Bring on the tater salad

Today my husband and I went to see Thunderhead Falls. It’s in a cave, and really neat. It’s been awhile since we’ve really taken a day to go and see something new; I’ve needed it badly! I took lots of pictures, and as usual, in addition to the falls I found a bunch of foliage and flowers to photograph. I loves me some flower photos. The cave was very cool and refreshing on this hot day… I think it was the 80s, which is funny considering that were I still in California it would probably be in the 100s. I suppose my heat tolerance has gone down. 🙂 This kind of felt like a pirate’s cave!

The waterfall is 600 ft into the cave…

After the falls we got ice cream bars at our little general store. They were tasty.

I made potato salad earlier. It’s been a couple of years, I’m sad to say. The hubby doesn’t like potato salad so I haven’t bothered with it… yet I love it so! At least my recipe, heheh (which is a third-generation variant of my grandma’s). I don’t like store bought so much. I used sour cream this time instead of mayo, and I don’t think I will be doing that again anytime soon. Love sour cream but the salad did not turn out quite like I hoped! Ah well, it’s still tasty. And since Hubs won’t eat it, I’ll get to eat it alllll by myself for a few days. In reasonable portions, of course. 😉

Well, I am off to do some design work (which is all under wraps, so I can’t show!!) and maybe paint on that rose painting a bit. Good night, all!

Hi Carmen, it’s good to have a run away day, do it more often! Of course you’re going to eat the tater salad in small portions! Like I do when I make angel food cake! NOT!
You were posted on EBSQ again yesterday! That is where I found you long time ago! Great!
Have a great new revitalized day!
